Who we are
LocalBee is operated by Localbee, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company. We run a community platform that connects residents with local businesses, organizations, and events. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and display name. This information is stored securely via Supabase and is used to identify you, send transactional emails, and personalize your experience.
Location information
If you use the proximity filter on the Events or Directory pages, your browser will ask for permission to share your location. We use these coordinates only to filter results — we do not store your location on our servers.
Activity information
We store records of events you mark as interested in, organizations you follow, and preferences such as email reminder settings. This data is tied to your account and used to personalize your experience and send notifications you have opted into.
Business listing information
If you claim or create a business listing, we collect your organization's name, address, phone number, website, and other details you provide. This information is displayed publicly on the LocalBee directory.
Payment information
Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details — those are handled entirely by Stripe and subject to Stripe's privacy policy. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
How we use your information

- To send event reminders if you have enabled them
- To process and manage premium subscriptions
- To display business and organization listings in the directory
- To respond to support requests and flag reports
- To improve the platform based on how it is used
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
Email communications
We send two types of email:
- Transactional emails — account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts. These are required for the service to function and cannot be opted out of.
- Notification emails — new events from organizations you follow, upcoming event reminders. You can manage these in your account settings or unsubscribe using the link in any notification email.
Emails are sent via Resend. Our sending address is hello@localbee.app.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate LocalBee:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Stripe — payment processing for premium subscriptions
- Resend — transactional and notification email delivery
- Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — address geocoding (no personal data sent)
- Vercel — website hosting and deployment
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Cookies
LocalBee uses cookies solely to manage your login session. When you sign in, a secure session cookie is stored in your browser to keep you authenticated. This cookie is deleted when you sign out or when your session expires.
We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics purposes. No third-party advertising cookies are present on LocalBee.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Business listing data you have made public may remain visible unless you request its removal.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-transactional email communications

Children's privacy
LocalBee is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of LocalBee after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
