Join us Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:30 pm for a screening of Peacock , a Austrian/German comedy about the masks we wear in pursuit of human connection. Matthias has an unusual job: you can hire him through the "MyCompanion" company to fill any social role you need: from a sophisticated boyfriend to impress your friends and parents, to a successful son you can boast about to your colleagues, to a dad with a cool job on Bring Your Parent to School Day. While Matthias is an adept chameleon, able to don a new personality every day, he begins to lose sense of who he is as an actual person. At the end of the day when he takes the costumes off, who is the real Matthias...? Peacock is unrated, in German and English with subtitles, and runs for 1 hour, 42 minutes. For more information, call us at 541-882-8894.

Our The Aging Journey seminar series continues! Staff from Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH) are giving presentations on a variety of topics of interest to older folks Thursdays at 10 am at the downtown Klamath County Library. Each presentation can be attended as a stand-alone; stop by for the topics that interest you! Join us for: Thursday, June 4th: Neurodegenerative Diseases. Conditions like Parkinson's, ALS and others cause damage to your nervous system, which affects your brain and muscle control. These conditions have strong ties to age. The older you are, the greater your chances of developing one. Thursday, June 11th: Dementia Types & Tailored Care. Dementia encompasses many more conditions than Alzheimer's disease, and while they have many symptoms in common, they all require different kinds of treatment and long-term care. Thursday, June 18th: Sleep & Circadian Rhythms. Your sleep needs are different at every stage of your life! Learn how to navigate them as an older adult. Thursday, Boundaries, Peace, and Protecting Your Energy. You can't be everything for everyone! Learn how to maintain healthy boundaries with your friends and loved ones to prevent burnout. KBBH Behavioral Health Specialists, Patricia "Patty" Card, and Kelli Bowers will show you how you and your family can prepare for challenges and celebrate triumphs as you age. Card has worked at KBBH for more than 35 years. Bowers has worked in the field of human services and social work since 1984 in Utah and Oregon. Both currently specialize in the mental health needs of older adults. For more information, call us at 541-882-8894.

2026 marks the 250th year since the United States of America became a nation -- and if you pay attention to the news even a little bit, you know it's a complicated time to be an American. The Beyond 250 Conversation Project by Oregon Humanities aims to untangle the complex stories of who we are as a nation or as a community. The downtown Klamath County Library is hosting one of them on Saturday, June 6th at 10am: a discussion on "Talking Values Across Divides," led by retired United Methodist minister Lowell Greathouse. This conversation will examine the deep divides in our world, and the difficulties involved in talking about them in safe, civil, and respectful ways. There are Beyond 250 conversations happening all over the state, including several that can be joined via video conferencing. Head here for a list of available virtual and in-person events , and check out more from Oregon Humanities at their website . For more information about the event at the library, call 541-882-8894.

When we started Magic: the Gathering events here at the library, we promised attendees free cards. But we never promised they'd be good cards. One player's trash is another player's treasure in our "Oops, All Bulk!" draft event on Saturday, June 6th starting at 10:30am. Draft cards from our repackaged "booster packs" and cobble together a janky deck that you'll pilot to victory! Registration is required! Sign up using this Google Form or stop by the downtown library's Youth Services desk. We'll provide everything you need to play (but feel free to bring your favorite dice or a lucky playmat if you like). This draft is for teen 12-19 only. Adult Magic: the Gathering enthusiasts are welcome to come and hang out, as staff will be playing Commander or Dandân or whatever while the teens are doing their bracket. For more information, call 541-882-8894.
