Accessibility

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Our commitment

LocalBee is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the widely accepted standard for accessible web content.

Because LocalBee is a community tool, we believe accessibility isn't optional. If someone in your community can't use the platform, we've failed them.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML throughout — headings, landmarks, and lists used correctly
  • Keyboard navigable — all interactive elements are reachable without a mouse
  • Sufficient color contrast across text and UI elements
  • Images include descriptive alt text where present
  • Forms include visible labels and descriptive error messages
  • Interactive elements have accessible names and ARIA labels where needed
  • The site is responsive and usable at all screen sizes

Known limitations

We are an independent, community-built platform and accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and address gaps, and we prioritize fixes reported by users.

Third-party content

Some content on LocalBee is submitted by businesses and organizations in the directory. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of content submitted by third parties, but we encourage all organizations to provide accurate and complete information in accessible formats.
